Almond treesDeze pagina in Nederlands
Almond trees are to be found on most of the greener parts of the island. The Almond Festival is held every year in Puntagorda, in the north-west of the island at the end of January or the beginning of February.
Almonds are for sale in the shops and on the markets most of the year.
Almond products are many and varied. Almonds are used in biscuits and cakes. Theye are mashed to form a paste which can be eaten on bread .. something like peanut butter without the butter.
