The Barranco de las Angustias gives access to the Caldera de Taburiente. The road runs from Los Llanos up through Los Barros and descends past the information hut down into the bottom of the barranco (gorge) to a car park. From the car park you can walk into the Caldera or take a taxi-jeep up to Los Brecitos where it is a 7 hour walk back down to the car park. |

This hut serves not only as an information point but also as a control point. During and after rainfall the Caldera may be closed to all visitors, both vehicular and foot. |

The steep and twisting road down to the car park was asphalted in 2006/2007. |

The road from the car park to Las Brecitos is only open to the authorised taxi-busses and local farmers. |

The first part of the walk into the Caldera is quite easy, then it becomes more difficult when walking through and over the rocks in the bottom of the gorge. |
