The Ermita is above El Paso at the base of the Cumbre and near the entrance to the Cumbrecita. It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared in a hollow in the tree. To celebrate this people made a small chapel which was later replaced by the church. |

...and every three years the people celebrate this. The tree, in which the virgen appeared is more than 500 years old and the biggest pine-tree on the island. |
