Argual (Los Llanos)Deze pagina in Nederlands
Argual is a suburb of Los Llanos.
On the road from Los Llanos to Tazacorte you pass through Argual where there is an aquaduct with a huge tree next to it and at the junction of the road to Puntagorda there is an entrance leading to an old square.
On Sundays a flea market is held here.
In the square is a statue, and around the edges is a church a restaurant and several old buildings. In the far corner is a building which is open to the public and contains a small tourist information office. This building is full of rooms with wooden floors, walls and ceilings and also the typical canary balconies.

A gourd was fixed to a pole, the person sits down with the pole across one knee then scoops the water from the lower tank and raises it to the upper level by a combination of pushing down on the end of the pole to leverage the water upwards.
The traditional method is kept alive by a local club which gives demonstrations and encourages young people to get involved.
