Los Llanos de Aridane at ChristmasDeze pagina in Nederlands
Christmas is celebrated on La Palma, but perhaps not in the same way as in Nothern Europe.Christmas itself is still a largely quiet and religious event and families getting together for a large meal on Christmas Eve, often with langostinos (large prawns) as a part of the meal. Father Christmas was virtually unknown until he was introduced via English and American films. The commercial side continues to escalate as markting increases.
The main festivities are around the 6th of January when the Three Kings come bearing gifts for children. It is very important to Spanish children.
