(Nederlands tekst nog niet beschikbaar) The Farmers Market in Puntagorda is open every weekend. On Saturdays from 14.00 until 19.00 and on Sundays from 11.00 until 15.00. The products sold are all produced locally. The meat is from pigs and cattle which have lived in Garafia or Puntagorda. The wine is from producers on the island, primarily from Puntagorda, Tijarafe and Garafia. The fruit and vegetables are grown on a small scale by local producers, many of whom sell their own produce directly to the client The preserved vegetables, jams and mojos (sauces) are mostly grown in Puntagorda and are processed and bottled in Puntagorda by local women. The kiosko serves drinks and also very good food, including squid, local pork, fish, bocadillos, chips and sometimes paella. Currently (2010) there is a lottery for a basket of local produce every last Sunday of the month. You get tickets with purchases above a certain amount. |
