Las Manchas is a part of the Los Llanos district.
The area is criss-crossed by old lava flows from past eruptions and there are several extinct volcanic outlets. A good place to have a look at them is shown with the Google Earth link.

These 2 volcanic cones were created when lava from the main crater (above on the Cumbre) forced its way through the rocks to escape and create this cone shape.

Pre-fabricated tea roofs lie in a meadow in Las Manchas. These roofs were probably made more than 50 years ago when felling the Canarian Pine trees was permitted. The tea (resin-rich core wood) is very, very long lasting (100 years or more) and was used for building. The roofs were made to standard sizes in the carpenters yard and transported to the house.

In 2001 many new bus shelters were built all over the island.
This one, between Las Manchas and El Paso, is highlighted by the rays of the evening sun.
