Las Manchas is a part of the Los Llanos district.
The area is criss-crossed by old lava flows from past eruptions and there are several extinct volcanic outlets. A good place to have a look at them is shown with the Google Earth link.

Strange smooth lava layers on the underside of a gully where lava had flowed through. They are probably cuased by splashes of molten lava from the passing lava being thrown upwards, sticking to the rocks and then dripping slowly down ans solidifying.
